Hi,

I have just picked up a new diesel Kia Sorento and the clutch seems very very low to the floor when changing gear. The dealership has said give it a little time to settle in....

Settle in to what?? :) Has anyone else had the same experience or is this `NORMAL` for this car..

Thanks in advance

Steven,

I have a Kia Sedona and the clutch has to be right down to the floor too and was told this is normal. I put an extra layer of carpet down to protect the original and have had to cut the area under the pedal away to give the clearance needed. Tedious in stop/start traffic.

Hi Steven.

I also have a 2.5XS and even after 4 years the clutch engagement is close to the floor. Its not a problem, you will get used to it.

Steven,

Its a characteristic of Kia especialy the Sorento, you have to plant the pedal right down to the floor to get a clean gear change, but don't worry you'll soon get used to it.

Steven,

Enjoy your Sorento! it's a great motor!!!!! as for a tow car.....well you couldn't wish for a better one, You'll soon undestand why Sorento owners rate them so highly as the tug!

Rob,

Yep I concur with your sentiments.....love the Sorrie & love the Bailey! 2 weeks to Longleat & 7 weeks to Bordeaux/Perigueux

I bought a 07 brand new and found this problem arose probably latterly yes you have to be at the floor, however its such a great workhorse that I recently purchased a 09 plate

but everyone is correct the clutch has to be at the floor

You may have seen my postings about my accident on the A14

Well I am picking up a 2005 Sedona on Friday so I will see if the clutch is the same as the Sorento, although when I gave the car a good test drive I did not notice any problems with the clutch pedal

Got the car so now just need a replacement caravan but still having problems as local dealers are low on stock and they are resorting to advertising for caravans to buy to get their stock back up.

This week end I am going to the Guildford area as my wife is showing the dogs there so I will look at dealers in the area.

After Guildford we are going to Bristol to stay with my son so if nothing at Guildford I will look at Bristol
