Just wonder whether anyone else has had a problem with the microwave in a Coachman, ours has made a bid for freedom on the last 3 trips away, the cupboard door does not stay shut, and the microwave feet come out of the holes that it sits in.The cupboard has spring loaded catches at either side, which seem to be magnetic as well, but they do not keep the cupboard shut. The caravan is less than 2 years old and as I said the problem has only happened on the last 3 trips.

Hi
We have a Coachmn Pastiche and had a similar problem. Have you taken the microwave out and checked the two front feet - I did and found thatone of the feet had sheered in two allowing the micowave to bounce out of position. I fixed this by putting a new foot on it - something that was suitable from my old box of odds and ends.
Apart from that the only thing that holds the microwave in is the timber bar that sits abve it and what I found was that it needs a bit more downward pressure to hold the microwave down into position, i.e. to keep the fee sitting in the little recesses. What I did was to take the bar out - it just clips into position with two plastic clips so just get your fingers at each end a pull it out although a bit of pressure is needed. I then put some Blu Tack along the top edge at either side and then pished it back into place and have never had any more trouble with it. When I spoke to my dealer about it he said he had not heard of one moving before or would he just be saying that ?

Thankyou for the advice ref the feet,I will check and see if that is the problem,I had looked at the wooden bar across the top,and I will try and alter that as well.I did wonder whether the 2 push spring type catches on either side of the cabinet are up to the job as ours have never seemed particularly firm. Thanks again for the advice.

We've got a 2010 pastiche 560/4, and both the microwave cupboard and one of the similar TV cupboard door flaps have lost their strike plate that the magnetic catch attatches to. None of the coachman dealers I've been to stock these self adhesive discs.

Does anyone know where I can get these discs, or the proper name for them so I can search?

I've also noticed the gas struts that hold these door up when they're open are failing, particularly in cold weather. Closest off the shelf replacement I've found so far is screwfix item71151.

Cheers

Pete
