We have a 2005 Coachman Pastiche caravan, and we want to clean the exterior. We have been told that you can actually stand on the roof of this model, without doing any damage. Does anyone know if this is actually true, as we daren't risk going up there in case we end up with another skylight!!! Cheers, Roy.

We have a Pastiche 460/2 and would not even lean to heavy on the roof. I clean the top with a extended handled mop and polish it using a 8ft cane with muslin wrapped around the end, it works quite well.
Roy, Yes you can but why do it when as said in a previous post use an extended pole with cleaning brush on the end. The other thing is not so much falling through the roof as off it, its a long way down! Bazz.
coachmans are indeed built with a roof that is more than capable of holding an average weight adult, ive now owned one pastiche two vip's and one laser and ive gone on to the roof to polish it on all of them. i will say though that i never go on to wash it i just do as others do and use a soft extendable brush and when i do polish the roof i only ever go on it on all 4 's so basically spreading the weight over a large area.
Is it really worth the risk never mind the safety issues!
Icemaker, on all fours your weight is concentrated on two knees and two hands and then as you move or lift up one hand the concentrated weight per square inch increases even more.
I suppose you could spread the weight with a duckboard but maybe the shapes on the caravan roof and the potential damage to the roof/ wall seals precludes that one.
