i know a lot has been written about cracks in panels and getting them renewed but we have a 2004 bailey ranger 470/4 and i noticed we too have a crack in the back panel on both sides,so only choice i have is to fill and repair them, how do i tell if its fiber glass or that other stuff lol, does any one know what it is made of so i can at least get something that will work

The only real way to tell is to feel 'inside' the panel -

If it's GRP (fibreglass) then it'll be quite rough to the touch. GRP is repairable - you can buy the kit from your local car accessory shop.

ABS is a completely different ball game. I'm not too sure about repairing this! I would hazard a guess that you might be able to use something like car body filler (Isopon/P38 - that type of thing) but don't quote me on that.

Having had cracks in my rear panel (oo-er Missus!), I know how distressing it can be. Luckily mine got replaced under warranty. I don't know what I would've done if the van was out of warranty.

I think maybe I'd have left it until the cracks were actually leaking water - which might be sometime never!

We're all a load of worriers!

I was told by Bailey not to use any adesive as it could damage the panel ABS apparently can only be cold "welded" If I were you I would contact Bailey & ask their advice

alternativly you could try this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Leak-Repair-Tapes---Water-Roof-Gutter-Caravans-Lakeages_W0QQitemZ200319044271QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090312?IMSfp=TL090312124001r1754
