As per my post in insurance, I have two 30cm cracks in my panoramic window. I need to make them weatherproof as I have been quoted January before a repair can be done. I am thinking gaffer tape, but I also wondered about weatherproof clear sticky backed plastic. However, after hammering away at google I havent found anything suitable. I am sure cracked windows will be a fairly common occurrence. Any suggestions please?

Try sylglas tape I’ve used it for greenhouse repairs. It’s clear and stands up to the weather. Think Duct make an equivalent too.

Any idea what caused the cracks? I assume it is being done under warranty if you are not at fault? Just read your other post ref damage. TBH I think waiting until January for an insurance claim is unacceptable.

I think long waits are the norm now. I booked mine for a service back in August. Earliest available date end of November. There’s another post re a door lock. 10 weeks I think for delivery. It is frustrating especially if something requires repairing but at least the tape will keep the weather at bay.

Well, there is another story behind this. Our caravan is of the SMART HT construction. I first contacted Robinsons Caravans at Chesterfield over the matter. Despite being an NCC approved workshop, they said they could handle the claim but not do the work. The work would have to be done on their premises by Swift engineers. The wait for that was indeterminate. As we bought the caravan from Lowdhams, it was logical to go there, and hence January. They would do the work themselves. Probably quicker in the long run. TBH, Im in no rush, as long as i can make it weathertight we wont be using it this year. Hasnt been used since July 2019.
