Hi cris we hijacked that guys thread a bit, from your postings you obviously spend alot of time in France,in june I am going to Limeuil by Bergerac from Caen, last year went from le Havre and went Alencon/Le Mans/Tours/Chateauroux/Brive and across to Perigeux some of the route was slow mainly where the new autoroute is not complete between Tulle and Perigeux,am thinking of going Poitiers way would welcome your input.

Last time we went to that area we went via two weeks at la Palmyre. Straight easy trouble free ;-) motoring I would go this way with van for easy option if cost and time is not a problem.-

You will see that most of route is motorway.

If you want a shorter route more cross country. This is probably the best option. If you have kids especially or if like films a stop on route at Futuroscope (Poitiers) is well worth while but do not miss the evening show. But remeber Le Mans 34 hour race is on the 17th/18th June.-

I take it you mean Limeuil in the Dordogne south of Bergerac. tried to show michelin route and failed :-(

Caen / Rennes / Nantes / Niort / Saintes / Bordeaux / Perigueux and then down to destination for easy caravan run via mainly motorway and near to La Palmyr, good motorway drivingmost of the way but a lot further than below route if I have your destinations right.

Or Caen / Alencon / Le Mans / Tours / Poitiers / Angouleme / Perigueux / Limeuil
