damaged work top repair

Hi folks, seasons greetings to you all.

I have discovered that the worktop adjacent to the sink in our van (challenger) has a cracked dent in it !! I assume that this must have occurred during our last outing, when a book probably fell from the shelf directly above it - ouch !!

Can anyone give me advice on how and if this might be repaired, either by myself or in the workshop - I have not yet made an enquiry about it with my local dealer.

I imagine that this type of damage will have been discovered in a few vans over the years, especially as the work tops are, well, hollow/honeycomb I suppose.

Any good advice on how to effect a good repair would be appreciated.

Thank you for your time reading this.

Kind regards

James

James,

This question popped up last week and the replies are still on this page (last update was Tues 09 Dec).

The major DIY outlets do a worktop repair kit, it's just a case of getting one that matches yours,

best regards, Martin

We had a new Abbey GT some years ago and it was suplied with 4 thin 6in X 6in tiles in a square next to the cooker

It looked quite attractive

They were very thin and just stuck on the top

You could do the same thing with a glass worktop protector

Hi folks.

Thank you for your wise words once again - I know I am not alone out here . . . . . we are one big happy family, albeit extended, and I love you all.

I think I will attempt to repair it myself using your advice, and if all else fails, then it's to my local dealer (Knowepark - last years big stars) to fill it in, and me too probably for being so careless.

Merry Christmas to you all, and a very happy, and hopefully prosperous New Year in 2009 - I wish . . . .

kind regards

James
