There is a lot of chatter at the moment about false reviews, i.e. companies asking their employees to leave good reviews. I wouldnt put too much faith in the actual number of good reviews but there are telltale signs to look for.
Very often, when a dealer isnt up to scratch, there will be a theme to the reviews. If one person says the service department is poor, I would ignore it. If 10 people are saying the same thing, thats the sort of stuff to look out for.
One thing that has become apparent of late is the issue with service departments, not always their fault. There has been a mad rush to buy caravans during the staycation boom, and the service departements are overwhelmed by the increase in workload. Add that to the pressure they have been under to recoup losses during Covid, that they are being pushed all the time by the bosses to increase their income. As we all know, the caravan dealers make a large percentage of their income via the aftersales, and thats where most of the troubles lie. That and the fact that the manufacturers dont give a rats **** about quality control.
None of this helps the end user as I have very recently found to my cost and been the victim of an overbooked and overwhelmed service department.
We arent allowed to criticise companies in the forum but if you drop a hint as to which part of the country you are in, perhaps one of us could send you a message with a recommendation or an avoid.
