I know this subject has been mentioned before but i cannot find an answer to my query.

I need to fix the floor in the caravan.I have read about either using the proper resin or using expandable foam, and i have decided to use the resin.I dont want to have to rip up the carpet which would mean cutting it as it is fixed under all of the units so i am looking to fix the floor from underneath.

Is there any reason why i couldnt do this?

Thanks in advance

I succesfully fixed mine from below last year. I got a kit from ebay that included the resin, hardner, syringe & some dowels to use as plugs. I drilled a series of 6mm holes under the spongy area by lying on the ground under the van and drilling up. I was careful to drill through the first layer of ply & the foam only, stopping when the bit hit the upper floor.

Then I injected the resin into the holes one at a time & plugged them as quickly as possible with the dowels. It was messy because some resin did run back out even with the dowels in place, so I cut lots of bits of duck tape to seal the holes as well.

With all the resin injected I then went into the van, put some planks of wood on the floor & some heavy weights on the wood.

My biggest worry was resin leaking through joints in the floor & staining the carpet but this did not happen. 12 Months later & my floor is still sound.

Hope this has been helpful!

I too have succesfully repaired an extensive area of delamination from underneath the van after initially being advised that the repair was not possible without taking inner floor covering(lino) up. Firstly I found the "softest" areas of the floor and measured and marked accordingly under the van, drilled holes, inserted bond (ebay delam repair kit)and inserted dowel as Glenn suggests. I put aquarolls inside van to weight from within and jacked under van with boards and scissor jacks to provide upward pressure to areas.Total length of time for repair= 90 mins (excluding setting time overnight). Total cost=
