In my house apart from the TVs that run from the main aerial (non sky) I have two working on set top aerials and these have worked with no problem with good reception (except last year when they upgraded to improve and wiped out 24 etc)
Last Wednesday both set top sets lost signal on all but BBC channels (these went from 75% signal strength to 100%) and the main TV also lost signal (now restored) the only way I get all channels is to connect to the main aerial.
I have direct line of sight to the Sutton Coldfield transmitter and can see it lit up at night.
Anyone know what the problem is or how to correct it,at least at home i can conect to the main aerial on site i would not have that option.

Sounds as though there's some maintenance work being carried out on the Sutton Coldfield transmitter or in the feed to that transmitter, so that the only signals that you are getting are from somewhere else.

About a fortnight ago we had been having problems with the digitial signal here in Essex , over a period of different nights, Sunday the signal was so bad on Itv 1 , that we had to revert to analouge, were the signal was perfect, heard on the radio that certain weather conditions was effecting freeview digitial only , programs via satellite okay.
The problems seems to have disappeared as we are getting reception on all the digy channels.

It said in our local rag this week that they were working on the transmitter and switched to another but now back to the original which is fine except the signal is still not there.

Sounds like a local problem. Worth remembering that once the analogue signals have all been switched off, the digital signal strength will DOUBLE. It cannot be done before then because it interferes with the analogue signal
