Pete,

Depending on the weather (everyone seems to be in the bar in the evenings to watch the weather and plan the day ahead) or if we've done everything we wanted to do in the area, we often change our plans in France and this doesn't seem to be a problem.

You only pay for the days you've been there, but admittedly we've only ever changed our plans by a few days and not stiffed someone for two weeks.

Hi Pete, If you did this last year why did you do it again!!!

You don't say to whom you have paid your deposit to?

If you have reserved a pitch direct, contact the site via email and shorten your time to 2/3 days whils you have 3 weeks to go.

If you end up liking your campsite, you can stay or roam where ever. We never book more than 2/3 on uncharted territory.

Pete, the first time we went to France in '86 we made the mistake of booking a fortnight, from the UK. The site was in Brittany where it rained incessantly, so we buzzed off to the Loire where the sun nearly always shines. We had to forfeit our site fees in Brittany. Since then we've only ever booked the ferry, and then found a site in France. So long as you arrive at about 3.00pm you'll nearly always get in somewhere as there are over 11000 sites in France. Sometimes they'll even give a discount for a longer stay too!
