Excellent site just south of CF- Le Clos Auroy at Orcet. Exit 5 from the autoroute. Big pitches, good facilities, Dutch run, quiet.
Good base to visit volcano region - well worth a visit if you have not been before, but pick a fine day.
Sorry can't help with Dreux although friends use the municipal at Nonacourt and report it better than you would expect given the industrial nature of the town.
Shouldn't be too busy as befoe the main french holiday season.

Agree the CF recommendation is a good one. Nonacourt is fine for an overnight stop and it's fairly quiet. There are a couple of bars and places to eat and just a short walk from the site is a small supermarket for fresh bread b4 you set off. Can't say anything about Nonacourt showers though. We have used the site a few times b4 we started taking the dogs with us and now use the shorter Dunquerque ferry route.
Just packing up now to set out this weekend but next weeks forecast for most of France looks a bit iffy!

many years ago stayed at site called des Etangs de Marsalin, near Dreux (Vert en Drouais), from what I remember was a comfortable night halt.
