The front panel (GRP ?) of my 6 year old Abbey has lost its shine despite regular applications of polish (Auto Glym) since new. Is this a common problem and, if so, what are the remedies if any ? I wondered about using T-Cut but there may be something better available. Has anyone any suggestions ?
Thanks in advance.

I've used MER on dull panels and it brought them up okay, but then followed up with Autoglym to help retain the shine. However these days I tend to use a spray on shine (Demon Shine) after washing and the van comes up like new even at 8 years old. There are lots of websites giving advice particularly boats. Here's a link to one which contains a further link to a well respected supplier of grp polish. But MER does work with some elbow grease.

Hi John, I have an 2005 Elddis Avante and the front panel had what looked like a dull film covering it.
I tried several 'cleaners' without success.
After searching the 'net' I tried Farecla Marine Gel Coat Restorer and I found this removed the dull film.
It is a paste to be applied with a damp cloth with firm pressure. It can also be used with a hand held polishing machine.
I hope this information is of some use.
After using this I have polished with Mer to bring back the shine to the surface.

If you follow the link in my post it will take you to the same restore that Bronhills Bob used and also shows photos on how to re-shine dull grp. Hope this has been of help to you.

Please be a little careful with what polish you use on the front locker etc Mer is a good polish but is known for its abrasive content so not too much elbow grease as the paint work is very thin. The same applies to T-Cut.Have a look at the links before mine and have a look at what has been recomended apart from those two_Other Clive has a good one to try

My van has gone the same, had a company come and show me what they could do and it came up like new , look for tourershine on the net, they say they can get your van to showroom condition.
