Electric towel rail

Wonder if someone can give some advice. I bought a rather neat caravan specific electric towel rail. Also found an ideal position within the end bathroom. Therein lies my problem! I know you are not allowed a socket outlet in the bathroom area, but is it ok to wire a socket outlet into the nearby wardrobe? I know my previous Elddis had the consumer unit in the wardrobe. The electric cable for the towel rail would run under the sink unit within the cupboard so not to be visible, and I would run the cable within flexible conduit. Also the path for the cable feeding the socket outlet in the wardrobe would run through the same cupboard, again protected in flexible conduit.
My question is, is it permissible for electric cable to be run within the bathroom at all. If not, where or how do you fit an electric towel rail?
Thanks in advance
Don

Hi Don.
Don't know if you know but, any cable that you use must be multistrand & flexible to cope with all of the movement of the van, normal household three core cable must not be used......
Here is a thread about the same thing last year....

Have you thought about fitting a separate rcd breaker so that if there was a problem it would isolate it-self rather than just relying on the main one in the van ?
Here is a good selection of fixings to choose from & use when fitting the towel rail

Hi thanks for the reply and the link. Yes I am aware of using flexible cable rather than twin and earth. There is an easy route (and hidden from view) through to the wardrobe where I'll fit the isolator switch, outside of the bathroom area.

Many Thanks

Don

I will not comment on the electrical installation of the towel rail as that has already been covered.
Regarding the fixings link supplied by Sproket, I've used the "rubber nuts" in the past for various fixings (smoke/CO detector, fire blanket, fire extinguisher, toilet roll holder etc) onto the cavity walls of my caravan and think that they are excellent. I originally bought "Rawlplug" make but don't know whether they are still available. I've just bought some from my dealer, marketed by "W4".

I got some of these from a DIY shop in Warwick

They are also on Ebay sometimes
My heated towel rail was fitted alongside the shower door in the Challenger 570 and the 2 screws went into the framing with no need for fixings
