A comment in another thread has caused me to have a look for electric under carpet heating. This would appearfr to offer background heat without blowing warm air and associated dust around the van interior, and would be good for backgound overnight heat on sites where the electricity ha s alreadey been paid for.
Most of those I've found have required several layers of underlay etc. or have beensuitable only for use on tiled floors not lino over timber. The standard sizes tend to be square rather than the 1 x 6m needed for most caravans

Has anyone else looked at this and, if so, any ssuggestions ?

Hi Ray.
I have been thinking about using some of this under-carpet-heating the only concern for me is that the floor of Hymer has got a cushion floor covering that is glued down & would be a right pain to remove....
Would'nt want the heat to soften the glue or would it even with this underneath ???

On another forum, the lot is fixed to the underneath of the carpet so no mess. It is only a supplementary heating system as on it sown it cannot heat the whole of the caravan. Have a read here. Hopefully you will find it helpful as we are also serious considering this for next winter.
