Electrolux Refrigerator

The frige in my swift Signature(an electrolux RM4271) has stopped working on 240v & 12v but works ok on gas I have checked the fuses and the power supply and both seem ok,has anyone got an idea what the problem could be and where I can locate the spare parts to rectify this problem?

Hello Sean,

If both elements have failed then the fridge needs to be removed to gain access to the assemblies. AS removal will require breaking a gas joint, the job must be referred to a competent fitter working to the gas regulations.

If both elements failed at the same time, it suggests some other potential cause, and this again should be looked at by a competent person.

Sean, the 12v will only work when connected to the car and the engine is running, it will not work any other way.

The 230v element has probably packed up and needs replacing.

Thanks for for help Damian,I didnt realise taht the 12v only worked when attached to the car,so as yourightly say it probably is just the 240v not working.

thanks for your concerns John,but I wouldnt consider doing any gas work myself,however I do work in the building trade and as a word of warning to others,please note there are various degrees in Corgi & acops and not all gas fitters are qualified to touch portable gas appliances or butane and this includes caravans.
