Subject: FIND MADELEINE / BUSCAR MADELEINE

Please read this message and pass it on!!!!!!!!!!!!! As you are aware my niece is still missing and I am asking everyone I know to send this as a chain letter i.e. you send it to everyone you know and ask them to do the same, as the story is only being covered in Britain, Eire and Portugal. We don't believe that she is in Portugal anymore and need to get her picture and the story across Europe as quickly as possible. Suggestions are welcome. Phil McCann

I may get myself shot down in flames but I am slightly apprehensive regarding this. The e mail is either quite old, or certainly some of the information in it is not correct. The story of Madeliene's disappearance is I gather headline news in virtually the whole world in countries as far away as Australia and the US. There is also a web site which has been viewed by millions of people globally, in fact it has already spawned the usual sick copycat websites. While Portugal is a Schengen country and so does not have border controls, many of the other European countries, including the UK, still do. So a Passport is required to be shown. To have arranged all that, and the transportation requires a lot of planning and a number of people to be involved. Just seems curious nothing has emerged, or maybe it has and we are not being told. In which case i feel we should let the professionals do their job.

So I am slightly confused as to whether my forwarding this to all my contacts is really helping, or just clogging up the e mail system. The majority of my contacts are in the UK and so are already fully aware of the situation.

Like everyone I hope for a happy ending to this tragedy, I maybe just feel there are better ways of assisting.

I agree with SL. Mrs P received a text with three stars (or rather asterisks) asking her to send the stars to every female in her phone address book as the stars would help Maddie to be found and brought home. Mmmmmmmmmmmm............. it won't do any harm, but it won't exactly help. Except boost the phone companies' profits.

The sad thing about all this is that the McCann family (Team McCann) are annoying so many people with all their personal expenditure in Portugal being funded by the trust that has been set up to find Maddie.

These parents, both doctors, earn in excess of

Whilst I feel desperately for the McCann's, although my daughter is grown up now, I don't know how I'd have coped with her going missing at 4 years old, or even if she went missing now.

But through all of this, what the hell were they thinking about? leaving, whilst they went out to a restuarant, a 3 year old & baby twins with no body looking after them, even though the site had a baby sitting service, ? it just beggars belief!

After such a long time missing, I fear that there's little hope of finding her alive, all we can do is expect the worst BUT HOPE FOR THE BEST!

I truly wish she is found safe and sound and reunited with mum and dad.

Having seen the heading of this post I knew what it was about so didn't bother to read it. Now I have done so it's pleasing to see others think the same as me.

The parents earn in one year what it would take years for me to get with my pension so I have no intention of giving to fund them out there because of a fault of their own.

I'm not too sure what the fund is for, surely it's not for the police.

I just hope the poor girl is found alive soon but as time goes on its not looking good. If the net closes in on the kidnapper and she is still alive God only knows what he/she will do with her :O(

Lord B, you've done it again! What will happen to the fund when it's all over, and, as you've said, what is the fund paying for?

These funds all seem to start with good intentions, but end up in squabbles. Remember Aberfan, Princess Diana etc?

We totally agree with most things said on here so am also glad that someone has said these things. I totally agree about the fund and what happens to it when this is all over, also about the salaries they earn and all this expense of 'Team McCann'.

Me personally, if I had lost one child like this, I almost certainly wouldn't have let the others out of my sight, yet they are hardly ever seen with their parents. A family holiday, should mean doing family things together as a family, which includes eating and if children are too young to stay out, then you stay IN!

Also, spare a thought for all the other children who go missing every day who are not mainstream news all the time. Would we have had this media hype if the parents had been working class, maybe on low income, etc. Almost certainly not.

Janet & Jason I would leave my children with trusted baby sitters but I totally agree with your last paragraph.

When making my post I thought of stating the same but I don't like posting any controversial non PC comments. It is probably because of the fear of someone popping up and accusing me of some kind of ism and reporting me :O( I'm getting quite a complex about it now and live in fear of going over to the other side. There must be a ICS course I could take to get my diploma's in Political Correctness to make my passage less painful. ;O)
