Hi Mark

I would guess the best pitches for sun will be 1-10, they are south facing, obviously I haven`t stopped there as it is so close to home.

High Stand Wood is just up the road, the North Pennines are great walking too, and a lot quieter than the Lakes.

Englethwaite Hall is one of my favourite sites and has one of the best dog walks.

Download a site plan from ...

http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/media/367353/Englethwaite Hall (plan).pdf
... and if you have a dog some of the best pitches are 54 - 63.

To get to these pitches you drive by them on entering the site so after booking in you have to drive as if your leaving to get back round to them.

Behind the pitches are two large open areas, meadows, which dogs love and this is apart from the dedicated dog walk and the wood which has been mentioned with it's three lakes. You buy a permit from reception if you want to fish them.

I've posted some pics which shows the site far better than I can put into words. We are going again in September for a week.

I forgot to mention the different coloured rhododendron display in April/May.

If I recall correctly it was pitch 61 Mark.

Hopefully in September it will be vacant for us but you can't really go wrong with any of pitches in the ones I listed. Even pitches 17-23 and 41-44 will be ok and give you direct access to those meadows or the dog walk itself.

On the site plan between pitch 44 and 55 the square shown is the steps left over from when it was a stately home and those lead onto the meadow/dog walk.
