Has anyone been to this campsite. We are considering going to the south of France for the first two weeks of september. Is it suitable for a couple in their early 60's?
The site is teraced in the Esterel hills set a little back from the coast. The entertainment area and bar and restaurant are above many of the pitches on the other side of the hill so if there is entertainment provided on the terrace most pitches are not really effected by the noise.
It's a family site and the owners are very proud of the standards they set, the pool area is well kept and again is away from many of the pitches.
We've had some great meals on site and even the takeaway that has a fresh bake pizza oven has been of a high standard.
We've traveled to the site from Germany and Italy numerous times with friends for sailing and the site was happy to accomodate friends boats on large pitches.
September should be quite quiet and the quality entertainment provided in July and August may have ended by then, it's a family site but we've seen plenty of older retired couples there
and have seen the same couples again on motual return trips.
Esterel have always had a unique quality web site and that just about sums up the site.
The web site photo's have always been a good representation of what the site offers unlike some web sites.
Posting on another site says they do take folding campers - sorry I was sure they said 'only caravans and motorhomes' - friends have been, in a mobile home, and loved the site, but said the area was very busy, even at the end of August.
