Thought we would pop in and say hello as we have just purchased our first caravan. Giving it a quick makeover first as it needed a little tlc when purchased, but it'll be all sorted very soon. Its not a new girl by any stretch ,its a 87 (?) Abi jubilee rallyman, which suits us just fine size wise as any bigger then it wouldnt fit on the drive! Our towcar is a Volvo S60 2.0t and on the drive back from picking up the van, it seemed to match it pretty well. Hoping to glean some information and tips from the many learned folk here. All the best.

Hi Mark

Great to see you are taking up caravanning again.

The Rallyman Jubilee was built as a limited edition to mark 25 years of the Ace brand. It came with hot water, shower, oven, fridge, heater and awning light, folding step. By mid 87 the rest of the Aces were changed to the Jubilees. Just keep an eye on the rubber front window surround for perishing. Check for damp on front roof seams to and floor delamination. Otherwise they wear very well-enjoy

Thanks for the info regarding the van. We thought it was some sort of anniversary edition as in drinks cabinet it has a set a wine glasses with Ace 1962-1987 embossed on them, sadly one is missing but there is 5 left so could be worth holding on to. We have finished our makeover today, you are right about the waterleak on the front, the previous owner had these repaired but sadly the inside front panels had suffered. So i ripped these out over the weekend and replaced with new, its all been recovered with Fablon, i've put in a new carpet today so can be assured that the floor is sound, my wife has recovered all the cushions and its had a good clean! Its also been raining here for most of the day and I checked it and its bone dry. Cant wait for our first excursion it it!
