Hi
After 12 years of caravanning in our triple bunk van it’s time to find a van that will accommodate our teenagers and us. The problem is with me being 6ft 1 and my son being 6ft 3 we’ll need a van with a good double made up from lounge seats for me and the Mrs, and I think twin singles at the rear. Question is - is there a van out there with at least 1 single at say 6ft 5 or longer?

With the introduction of 8Ft wide vans, you would think some manufacturers would see an opening to install two decent width (1m) single bunks across width of van to make two beds at least 7ft long...

Any vans out there that might suit my need?
thanks

Not sure what level you are looking at, but the Adria Tyne and Weinsburgs Cara range include beds at front and back across the caravan which might suit you. Cannot think of any home grown ones with that sort of layout.

Thanks. The Tyne looks a good possibility. Checked specification on Adria site and one single is 203cm or 6ft 7”. Touch and go on MTPLM at 1700/1800 for my estate.

The Weinsberg designs and vans are very nice. Very few options second hand. Pity Europe doesn’t use our plugs otherwise I would look for a bargain in Germany and tow it back.. lol

Are you talking internal power sockets or towing electrics. If it’s the latter they will be 13 pin towing electrics. If your car has twin sockets you can get converters.

Sorry did not realise you meant the internal ones. I would hope that is not a problem, and replacement sockets are cheap enough or even convertors to put in the sockets if need be. To be honest I never noticed that as a potential problem when I saw one at an exhibition, need to keep my eyes open more!

I'm 6'3" and understand the issues - Looking at new/recent caravans with twin beds, all of them seem to be maximum 6'3" or shorter which is no good if you like to sleep stretched out. My solution was to get a Transverse Island bed (double) and just hang my legs off the end (Rear in-line beds also have a like a 6'1" limit)

I seem to recall having a look round an Adria (can't remember the model) at an NEC show last year which had twin singles that seemed to be big enough for me, but was marred by a wardrobe suspended over the foot-end - bashed shins in the night! I think it may have been a fairly hefty caravan.
