Mark,on my PC I get regularly pop up 'updates are ready' no problem there however today I clicked on it as usual and it said it would install Service Pack 3! but properties still only show SP1 (not got round to doing SP2 till no1 son visits.Do you know of SP3 and if so why is it not showing it also said it was setting restore point.Or will it complete when I next switch on.

I told you I would be back a bit like a certain American actor (cant spell his name)

Hi mark,switched on this morning and it has virtually on its own downloaded SP2 took nearly 4 hours but seems to jam,rhen had to amend AOL because of SP2 and AVG is telling me the items in red are in error whatever that means and it doesn't tell me how to sort it.I say bring back the Spectrum

Hi Plotter, regarding your AVG message I think it comes up after it's downloaded an update. You should find your AVG icon in Startup bar is greyed out. Once you restart your computer all should be ok. I have Vista and for some reason once its downloaded the updates you have to restart your puter. It's probably done to get you to buy the Pro version.

sorry, had a busy weekend so just seen this - if it is asking you for Service pack 3 it must be for Microsoft Office (2000 or XP) as there isn't an SP3 for Windows XP - if you have Windows 2000 then SP4 would be the one you want.

if it IS an SP for Office then I wouldn't bother downloading it, especially if it is that slow.

if AVG is showing items in red it requires updating, normally once per week. double click on the AVG icon and there is an update button, then choose Internet - it should run the update and tell you when finished.
