My 350 got me straight to Leuven tonight, just checked into hotel and leaving message on desktop for

my wife !

I have fancy phone set up so bluetooth would be a waste for me. As soon as I got back from Spain I got my own 350. For travelling it is the biz .

No need to get lost in Rome or Venice on foot, just pull it out of your pocket and it'll lead you to wherever you want.

I've put a 2GB sd card in mine and it has two books and a load of music on it ! Heading to Germany at Lunch time so good night and hope it works foor you Kev.

Hi cris, same price as I paid from Pentagon Toyota in Sheffield.

All is well with the 360 except for 1 thing, I dont know if 1 area has been missed out on the mapping (it does show the area on the map). We are going to souht Brittany for our holiday in August and put the place where we are going into the 360, after about 30 seconds it came up with not enough memory!!!. I put a place in south of France in all ok a place in Germany all ok.

I wonder if you could try and put some places in your 350 to see what happens, I dont want to go back to the dealer if it is not faulty.

The places I tried are all in south brittany

Pontchateau

vannes

nantes

le croisic

quiberon

Hope to hear back from you

Cheers

Can get them with no problem. Have caravanned at Carnac and La Trinite many times so even know that roads are correct.

If you have selected to navigate a few times you may have used up memory, but memory is pretty good.

Have you downloaded Garmin web updater, a revised firmware update was released 4 days ago, go to - http://www.garmin.com/support/blosp.jsp

select nuvi 360 down the list and install the updated firmware.

Suggest you fit an SD card, and go to www.garminpoi.co.uk for free POI download from MAFT. Maft is Garmin I3 and nuvi thread moderator at www.pocketgpsworld.com where you can join up and get speedcam database for a small fee.

You can zoom out drag the map with your finger and then zoom in on say Quiberon or Vannes. If you zoom in on them and they are there to street level you have no problem, probably just a "newbie" user glitch.

Don't panic, switch it off connect to the pc and do the download, any questions just ask here if I can't help go on Pocket GPS forum.

Kevin.

When you hook up to the USP ports and start the update download do not touch anything until youget clear indication that the download has finished.

You do not have to turn the unit on, as soon as you plug in the screen will come on showing pictue of PC link!

Make sure you download the Garmin POI loader to your PC, POI go into a "GARMIN" Folder that will be set up on your PC and are taken from there when loaded onto the SatNav. I you empty the Garmin folder and then add other POI's to it when you load them your unit will only have the new POI's. So make sure you leave all POI in the folder and if you update speed cams monthly you just replace the original file in the garmin folder so all the other POI's are just putback when it updates POI on the unit.

Hope that makes sense :)

Does sound like a prob, could be a chip prob. The odd rogue gets through. Mine routed to Quiberon with no problem.

Don't worry it does happen, I used one for my Italian trip before I got my own, my trade contact has had few probs with the nuvi compared to tom tom's.

Hi Kev. Sorry pal but I've been in LeMans working and only got in this morning after a sleepless weekend. My friends had a nightmare weekend but got to the finish as did all my clents cars apart from 2 I think.

Sorry to here of your probs, I prefer Garmin gear for its Quality side and Tom Tom has to many gimicky features to me. And I was recomended that Garmin turn info can be more acccurate and have to say friends with Tomtom when travelling with me rate the turn pre and actual turn instructions as good.

You don't say what prob's you have had! Can only say that I have had no probs. The nuvi has "sirf 3 chipset" and grabs satelites even from insid the ferry at Dover this morning.

I forgot fuel leaving LeMans and missed my old Alencon turn off on the new A28 Autoroute and the Nuvi took me to total staton just off the A28 at Gace about 1/2 way between LeMans ant Tours. I have a TMC unit fitted and had all the French roadworks and hold ups flashing up.

Telling me what probs your having would help! If they are in car, put the unit to the right of the steering wheel so it is nearest to centre of road. Not to close to the pillar so the thing has a fair view of the sky above. In Franc I put mine the other side as I rarely have to look at it but it can prevent blocking by high buildings in cities. Other in car probs can be through heated windscreens and some window treatments. If that is a prob Maplins own brand

Well I hope you are sorted now Kev, don't forget to download web updater from Garmin and the POI loader as there was a recent system update.

Also go to www.easygps.com to store poi/waypoint favourites.

If you want speed cam database join at www.pocketgps.com for monthly updates and the forum answers most queeries about any gps unit. Free poi download from www.garminpoi.co.uk from maft the mod at the street pilot and nuvi pgpsw forum for many UK shops etc and lpg gas stations etc.

For continental poi download go to www.poihandler.com wher you only pay a joining fee for speed cam downloads, most are free.

nuvi wizzed me to LeHavre to pick up some gear and the new A28 was brilliant. It has opened since the garmin mapping was updated so gets a liitle confused on the brand new road but soon works it out. There is a free mapping update due some time soon according to Garmin so that very minor hitch should be sorted then. The nuvi found french petrol station off the fuel less A28 with no probs ;-) It took me to Tours airport to pick up race team friends as well.

LeMans was brilliant as usual my son and friends went down for the first time for a full 4 day stint, they were blown away by the atmosphere. They ate and drank well and ended up very tired after night time excursions around the track and free concert. They have booked for next year though, this year was 100the anniversay of the ACO club that runs the race and next year is the 24's 75th anniversary so shoukd be another great event as usual with track updates completed.
