My 2008 sterling Europa had the front window replaced already and the problem has returned with the marks on both panels. Just back from three weeks away in van and my worktop is separating from the wood underneath and it appears as bubbles over the surface. This is especially bad above the fridge with a huge bubble which I was afraid to set anything on in case it cracked. My dad asked had I been using the fridge with gas as heat may have caused it. It had been on gas for a couple of hours as my little boy had changed it over. Surely if the fridge is designed to work on gas it shouldn't affect the worktop which is now unusable. I will contact my dealer but they are on holiday for now. This adds to the list of a gas strut replaced already also broken again and a flooding water heater which we had to get fixed on site. Not good for only a year old van. Thanks in advance

Hi Nicola,

Unfortunately there are cases of replacement windows that have failed again (a few are on this forum). Polyplastic posted a response on here last week stating that they are committed to fixing the problem.

The Worktop issue is not something I have come across before and certainly operating a fridge on gas operation definitely should not cause this. You need to get a dealer to look at this to diagnose and rectify the fault.

If your dealer is on holiday you can call our customer services team to discuss and see if we can put you in touch with someone else you can help, 01482 875740,

Thanks

Andy

Nicola, I had the worktop fault above the fridge on my last van. The dealer orininally told me that swift instructed them to inject with glue and restick it. When the dealer informed swift that this was not possible as the problem was too far in from the edge they said it wasnt covered under waranty.

I did not accept this and told the dealer to go bact to swift to say that if its under waranty to repaire than its also under waranty to replace, which to be fair to swift is what was going to happen in the end but I px the van anyway. You shouldnt have to fight for work to be done even if it is expensive

Hold your ground as the worktops are expensive and swift will not want to replace.

(I nomally stick up for swift so not slagging them off just my experience on this issue)

I had the same problem with my Bailey Senator kitchen top. Replaced by dealer/ Bailey with no quibble at all.

Trucker's quite right. You shouldn't have to argue on something like this. I'm sure Swift's Andy will help you if needed.

Cheers

We have the same problem with front window on our Elddis Crusader. We had our first window replaced, now after less than 6 weeks the new window is going the same way. will be on the phone to our dealer tomorrow.
