The omnivent in our caravan started doing the flashing lights scenario and then gave up the ghost. We have been running it non stop for the past two days when the lights across the touch panel stated flashing and then the fan switched off. Left it for awhile and it now works fine.
Anyway contacted the dealer who said it was a common fault withe new type omnivent and that the dealer had been replacing them with the older manual switch. Initially they were just exchanging them but within months the customer was back with the same complaint. In the 70'd we came across this with touch channel selector panels on TVs. This was due to damp as we lived near the coast in a hot humid climate. The humidity caused it to track causing the Tv to change channels!
As any one else had issues with theri omnivent going faulty?

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with it! Are you going to go with changing to the old ones? When we got the current van we had it removed before delivery and replaced with a mini heki because we rarely used it on the previous 4 vans as not often on ehu and had more valuable use for the power supply! We're pleased with the extra light afforded by not having one in place and as we didn't use it don't miss it. I'd certainly do it next time. Why oh why though does it have to happen?? It was the same with all those 2007/8 thetford fridges that needed replacement, all well and good upgrading things if they work but if not it just gets everyone grumbling!!
