Travelling from Dover to Calais then back from Caen to Portsmouth.

Anyone any tips for cheapest place to book?

I am a member of the caravan and Motorhome club and I believe they offer a discount.

My other question - does anyone have any tips of a place to stopover between Calais and the Dordogne? We’re staying at this place .

We used to stop in Dourdan at Camping le petit pres when travelling from Dunkerque/Calais. Very convenient for autoroute, local shops and eateries in walking distance.

Another was a decent municipal site at La Ferte St Aubin. Again close to autoroute and local facilities.

On the return leg, assuming that is Dordogne to Caen port [Ouistreham], we used the ex municipal in Loches.
It is placed at about half the duration of the overall drive.

If that's still operating its well placed for the evening stroll into the "city" centre, still of some medieval charm.
It used to be on the ACSI card discount scheme.

Ok cancel that. We’ve now done a little more planning and have decided to get the overnight ferry to Caen and back.

So any pointers on where we can find a discount code for Brittany ferries would be appreciated if there are any? I see they have an offer on flexi tickets at the moment which is good.

Oh and we’re travelling mid July.

Sorry can’t help with stopover sites.However,we stopped at this site for a while a couple of years ago and am pleased to say it’s very nice. Absolutely stunning area,lots to do ,enjoy.

Oh that’s good to hear! It’s our first trip to France with the caravan so feeling a bit apprehensive but this site does seem to get excellent reviews so 🤞🤞

There are no discounts available these days, other than membership of Brittany Ferries Club Voyage membership (which for new applicants is pretty minimal)
The old BF Friends and family discount ceased back in November
