Fish and Chips

My wife and I have just come back from a weeks holiday in York,what a fantastic city.What we were amazed about were the amount of fish and chip shops and mobile vans doing fish and chips and pies, most of the touring sites have a fish and chip van calling is that the main diet of people living North of Watford?In Whitby it appears that every other shop by the quay is a fish and chip shop Oh! and meat pies.What sort of diet is that I wonder.Jim

been south of watford and seen their diet,and you complain about ours.our diet might not be the best but the PEOPLE CERTAINLY ARE

had people from the south come up north having been brainwashed into thinking it was all pits and shipbuilding with men in cloth caps and women in chains.they got a shock,couldn't beleive the people or how beautiful the scenery was,and now come regulary to the area.never believe all you hear????

I wouldn,t dream of disputing the kindness,friendlyness,helpful,welcoming of the northern people,but you do eat a hell of a lot of chips so does that make a good diet?Jim

Now then. We used to live 'oop north' and loved every minute of our five years living near Pately Bridge in the Yorkshire Dales. (I for one was dragged back 'down south' kicking and screaming). Didn't notice lots of fish,chip and pie shops in York so unless things have changed suddenly (perhaps due to invaders from the south???) we ate much the same as we do now. Its a beautiful county with the most fantastic scenery and I felt honoured to live there, sadly work and family meant we had to leave, but we will return for extended stays as much as possible.

Jim Im sure there is a forum somewhere on the net that caters for Healthy Eating /As im sure there is one for political corectness etc etc.

and as many boring subjects as you can think of .

This forum is for Caravan topics .

On your visit to York did you try any of the fish and chips ?

If so what were they like ?

When i visit South of Watford .I try Jellied Eels /Pie and Mash

Week beer etc etc . But i have never thougt to ask if this was a suitable deit for my Souther Friends .

Plenty of forums to go on if you want to pick a fight, this is not one of them. Fish & Chips is a legit topic on a caravan forum.
