hi everyone, sorry if this is a repeat and has been covered before. i would just like clarrification on one matter please. i have just picked up my new car which has a factory fitted towbar with 13 pin socket. my van has 12 s&n on it. is it just a matter of buying a 13 pin plug and changing the 12 s&n wires to it from the van, or do i have to remove the old cables and rewire the van with 13 strand cable??? thanks in advance for your help.

No you dont need to swap the old cables, Its just a straight forward re-wire into the 13 pin socket. If you get stuck details are on http://www.western-towing.co.uk/acatalog/Caravan_13_pin_Wiring_Diagram.html

thanks for your replys gents, i had considered the adaptors but i prefer a nice and easy one plug and less dangling on the ground. A 13 pin plug and electricians screwdriver it is then!!!!

I changed the plugs and the cables for neater job, You will probably find the cables only go to a jointing box just inside the caravan anyway. You might aswell do a proper job.
