Fitting a stabiliser to an old caravan

Hi,
I am renovating an old 1972 ABI Diplomat and have been advised by the engineer who serviced it that I will be unable to fit an ALKO hitch onto it because it does not have the side bolts (it is a B&B Chassis). Has anybody on here had any experience of how to deal with an old chassis?? I have a detachable tow bar so some of the other blade stabilisers are unsuitable but would like to increase the safety when towing

Thanks

hi Patpar,
can you post a photo of the caravan hitch, as there was I believe a mod available on some of the tubular types of overun mechanisms that the early Alko 1300's used. might still be available on ebay.
alternative could be some type of fixing for the swan neck, that fits the buldog stabiliser, something like this, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Bulldog-Swan-Neck-200Q-Caravan-Stabiliser-Plate-/380681018505?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Touring_Travel&hash=item58a25b5c89
either way I dont think it is going to be a cheap fix but it should be possible, a photo of the hitch and fitted ball might help.
