I've just bought a second hand alko 1300 stabiliser from e bay which i want to fit to my 2002 Bailey Ranger . Do you think i could do this myself ?

Hi, Yes 1250 is ok, a bit close to the max 1300 though.
Fitting is relatively straight forward as long as you have any necessary spacers, if needed.
The front bolt just holds the hitch to the drawshaft, the rear bolt has to attach to the damper as well as the drawshaft, which can be a bit tricky.

As Damien has said. Getting the rear bolt in can be tricky. The trick is to have a spare bolt ground down to a point and use it as an alignment tool to engage the damper fixing hole. Then draw it back slowly while engaging the fixing bolt from the opposite side.
Also it would be best to use two new bolts and nylock nuts. You can use plated socket caphead bolts which you can get from a fastener supplier. But make sure they are 12.9 grade steel. That is called super high tensile grade.
If you do use the original bolts put locktite on the threads.
