Fixed beds

Hi, Can any of you fixed bed caravaners adive on the best option.....nearside cut-off,offside cut-off or across the back beds?

Unfortunately, your question is reminiscent of the one that starts: 'how long is a piece of string'? Everyone has their own ideas about what suits them best and of course the shape, and size of the bed is derived from the manufacturer's idea of the type of van he is producing. Smaller vans have smaller beds usually to make the available space look larger.

What I would suggest is look at the bed you use at home and go for the size that is closest to that. The cut-off, as long as it is not too severe, is not usually an issue.

i agree with that scotch lad. i am just back on my first trip in my senator indiana. i am 5`10. and it was fine.

One option you forgot to mention was fixed singles, theres no fighting over the duvet, and you dont have to climb over each other to go to the loo,

We have just had our new fixed bed caravan and it has the cut off bed in the back left side so I get to sleep with the cut off part! However - even though I'm tall (5'8") the cut off didn't affect me at all and my feet didn't hang over the edge, which was my worry beforehand.

We have just taken delivery of our new van with a fixed bed.

I was a bit concerned about the cut off but like Julie, we had no problem.

It must be the most comfortable bed ever and we both slept like logs.

Just cuddle up close and you'l never notice the cut off.
