Flashing Lights

Hi

Hope someone can help.When i conect up to our car.

The caravan lights have started playing up.For my left flasher,i now get a brake light flashing.When i brake my tail lights go off.Is this the car or caravan?The covers have broken off on the car,meaning water would have got in.Do you think,this should be replaced?and is causing the problem?

just had the same thing as you, had to have a new connector fitted on the car. At the time I only had the black one fitted, has the car was new to me, so thats the one that needs replacing

Thanks for that.How much did it cost?or was it somethink you could do yourself.

this sounds like the classic "dodgy earth syndrome". Check the wiring a the rear of the car socket, especially the earth connection to the car chassis, then make sure that the van connector is clean and dry (inside and out)and that all connections are tight and not corroded. Then if that hasn't cured the problem, take the caravan light lenses off and make sure that the connectors are clean and not corroded and that the bulb holders and bulbs are clean. If after all this they still don't work properly you'll have to check out the van wiring
