Hi everybody, anyone had any experience using Floe drainage kit. Drained van manually, closed all drainage points and taps, connected Floe and used footpump to get pressure. After foot pumping for a good 10 mins, pressure was still at zero. Checked that air was entering system, got wife to pump while I listened to hear if air was escaping anywhere. No evidence of water leaks. Perhaps needs a lot more pumping than 10mins to get pressure up. Only a small van, Trigano popup fitted with Truma Therme water heater, two mixer taps, one in kitchen, other in toilet compartment. Be grateful of any advice or ideas.

Thanks.

unfortunatly it would seem you have already purchased the device. I simply cut down a tyre valve to fit into my whale pump hose.
by undoing the jubilee clip that secures the water side of the twin hose to the pump ( the bit that goes into the barrel) removing the water tube & fit the trimmed valve into the water tube & plugging the whole unit into the caravan,Using my 12v tyre pump it took around 5/7 min to inflate the water system to the recommended 1 Bar /15psi.
Have you made sure that all the taps , & shower & drain valves are closed when you try to inflate the water system ??

Thanks TD...............as far as I can tell, all taps and drain taps are fully closed. Perhaps I needs more effort with a foot pump. I have a small 12v compressor, I'll give it a try when it's stopped raining. Thought I'd try the footpump first as I did not want to over pressurise the system.

Hello William. I had one of these bought me for a birthday present and was amazed how much water I removed even though I had driven back from a site a week previously with all the taps open along with the drain valve.
anyway I am sure you should be showing a reasonable pressure well within ten minutes even with your foot pump mine used to be very efficient when I used it for tyre inflation. However I used my 12 volt tyre inflator to operate the Flo device and it cut out at the correct pressure in what I would guess to be about two minutes (next time I use it I will pay more attention)
the thing is though that each tap has to be opened individually from my understanding of the instructions so you need to repeat the process for each tap. Doing it that way I removed water at each point so each tap took approx two to three minutes.
i suspect that your system when you tried it had perhaps one of your taps or the water heater drain either open or slightly open.
have another go making sure all your outlets are closed best of luck with it.
Ps:- I'm not fully convinced these things are necessary because my previous method of leaving the taps and drain open whilst returning from site always stood me in good stead over the years perhaps I have been lucky because our van is pretty exposed where we keep it. But I must say again when I used the flow I did remove at least a pint of water overall.
best of luck getting yours up and running and report back how it goes.
regards. Brian

Hi there Brian, many thanks for your help. I shall certainly give it another go. I have a small 12v compressor so I will try that. I suddenly had a thought, mixer taps, what is the fully closed/off position. Is it on the start of the blue segment or is it halfway between blue and red?

Tried again this afternoon and bingo, everything worked as it should. got pressure up with footpump, took about 20 seconds of pumping. Can't think I did anything different than the first try, but it works. Got about an extra 500ml out of the system. Thanks everybody for your help.

Pleased you got it working. William.
regarding my earlier comment about if these devices are actually of great benifit I'm still not sure but I intend using mine each time I return from a site. If only to remove water that would otherwise stagnate in the pipes and possibly taint a good deal of the first aqua roll when setting up again. Although over the years that hasn't been something I have considered.
But obviously dependant where water is sitting in the system a good frost may possibly cause some damage. At least the Flo device appears to completly drain the system.
regards for now Brian
