We had major problems with the telephone when our daughter was a teenager.Solved it by putting in a pay phone....problem solved. She was furious and refused to use it for 24hours.Her 2 brothers were delighted as they didn't use the phone much at all.Made it fair for everyone then.

Hi Maureen

Thanks for the advice, although not nice for you at the time, it's nice to know other people have suffered too!

I'm going to get a lock for it as it's not convenient to just unplug it during the evenings in case my mum or other relatives need to contact us.

Phil is going to ring Sky tomorrow and see if we can bar calls to mobiles from the landline but not sure if that can be done as when we were with NTL, they said they couldn't do that. How convenient for them.

Although I'm on broadband, I shall be taking the cable out too as punishment.

Teenagers - I'm sure I wasn't like this.

Hi Lisa

Fortunately we never had this problem as the telephone was in a communal place so not very much privacy when talking! and we never had computors like today so no broadband or extra telephone lines required.

Also not so many mobiles aroung when they were young.

When they did get mobiles they paid for them themselves.

Gee.... I sound old and mean.

Well I suppose I am old, as I can remember going round to the neighbours house as they were one of the first to have a telephone installed in their house...up until then we used to go to the bottom of the street to the telephone box...oh those happy days!!!

Anyway maybe if your telephone can be moved to a more communal place she would be unwilling to use it when others are around.

Unless it is cordless as many are nowadays!

Just a thought.....

Hi Plotter

That's what he who must be obeyed said and he wouldn't get anything like that wrong.

For the past two years, I have been getting 500 mins a month and 100 txts free by way of a cashback scheme payable at six monthly redemptions.

I've gone onto another contract now which is costing me

Oh Plotter,

I presume cost of mobiles don't concern you as you are wealthy. LOL

I'm off now for a couple of days, so before anyone asks, I haven't been banned. I'm going to Wales to visit my cousin who is dying.
