Forest Holidays

Hi all,

Is it just my imagination or has there really been a massive hike in site fees at "Forest Holiday" sites now that the Forestry Commission has tied in with the C&CC? I recently enquired about booking a pitch on one of the sites and asked if a deposit was required. My gabber was quite flabbered when I was told "Yes - £30".

Looking at the fancy brochure, I felt the site fees were high. Also, the Senior Citizens concession now only applies at certain times.

Any comments? I'll need to think about our proposed stay and certainly won't be booking in advance.

With these prices I would expect the site to be half empty - changed days - we used to have to queue to get on, if we were lucky.

there I found it :O) It was a wonder with this search engine.
Thanks L.B.

I don't know how I came to miss the original thread but it bears out what I fear - that Forest Holidays, if they carry on the way they are going just now, will price themselves out of the market.
