As we were going away last weekend i put some food in the ice box. I went to the van this afternoon and it had all defrosted even though the fridge was cold with ice in the fins. By the way the van is on the drive with electric on all the time. Could it be something to do with the cold weather, i have now put winter vents on to see if this helps. Any ideas ??

If there was ice on the cooling plate that is the problem, the fridge sensor is encased in ice and thinks it is really cold, so switches off.

You should never allow ice to build up on the cooling plates.

if the fridge is full it will struggle to keep up and the setting should be on 7.if your fridge door is open slightly it will freeze up without getting the fridge cold because it does not switch off and warm air is getting in past the seals.
