Fridge Problems

Hi all,
Just returned from a cracking few days in the New Forest. Whilst away I had a problem with my fridge which hopefully someone may have seen before. The fridge is the Thetford N80. When I switch the fridge on to 240V the MCB trips out after about 10 seconds or so. Fridge seems to work fine on 12Vdc and Gas. I have an idea that it may be the 240V heating element that is defective. Has anyone seen this before and if it is the 240V element then are they easy to change.
Thanks in advance.

Although the element has probably failed, it would need to be tested to be certain.
Replacing on a Thetford fridge is not straight forward, in most cases the fridge has to be removed from the housing to get access to the control board and element, which as it involves breaking a gas conection mustbe done by a suitably qualified engineer as pressure testing has to be carried out after refitting.
