Hi as we pulled a way from the site we start to put the car head light on and I spotted that one side of the caravan front side marker and rear light {red} was't working, but all the other was, Till I had alook this weekend had the bulb check they both was ok, so check the fuse in the van all was well, But the van is only over 18 months old, any idea folks Thanks Trevor123

Whenever you get roadlighting problems, even on quite young caravans, apart from the obvious bulb checks, the other thing to look at is the electical contacts in the fittings and especially the negative return. Corrosion is a frequent culprit, After cleaning the application of soempetroleum jelly or igintion sealer can helpto prevent reoccurence.

Beyond that its could be a connection problem in the plugs to the cars sockets.

I would check the connections in the plug and socket next if the fuses for each side are both OK.
Since it is a fault on one side only and both front and back, I would not suspect the earth connections.

Assuming you have a 13 pin plug and socket since the van is18 months old…………for the right side check terminal 5 and the brown wire and for the left side terminal 7 and the black wire.
There maybe a loose connection.

Thank you both for your reply, did wonder if it was the 7/13 pin connection was the problem as I use it before and found the van fridge was't working on 12volt as I pulled in the layby to check as I all way do and gave the 13 pin a good turn then the fridge 12volt came on, will look at it nexttime we are away went car/van are hook up, Thanks again, Trevor123
