Hello Rob sorry for the delay in answering.

The sides of the awning (suncamp ultima 260) do not secure and can flap,we had 50+ mph winds and that didn't cause any problems.

We positioned ours so it didn't cover any windows so dont know if it will scratch the window.

Overall we where very pleased with the awning and may now use this awning all the time instead of the full awning.

ps our caravan is an Avondale Dart 510-5

Hi Will, I too have an Avondale and I was put off the Suncamp because of the low awning rail on the van. It sounds as if your awning fits the van OK so can you tell me what your rail height is?
