Fuses

Just replaced 7 pin socket on both car and caravan because when putting caravan on to car the fridge does not work. I have a coachman pastiche 2003 model and I am trying to locate the fuses. Can anyone help

It is unusual for the fridge supply on the caravan from the 12s socket to have a fuse, if it will be fused anywhere it will be on the car side, where depends on car manufacturer and or if the tow bar is fitted or aftermarket, the most common faults with the fridges on 12v supply is a bad earth, have you actually checked this, also if you have a multimeter check for resistance across the terminals 6 & 7 on the caravan as this will check to see if the heater element in the fridge is working or burnt out, they have2 elements in, one for 12v and one for 230v if you have a test meter or lamp also start the car and between pins 6 & 7 on the car, this should either light the test lamp up or indicate around 14.4volts on a multimeter.

Also check pin 4 on the car to earth, this should give you an indication as to if the car wiring has a fault or if the fuse has gone on the car, it may be worth you emailing one of the moderators on this website and ask them to move your post to the technical section as this has been posted in the new members area, incidentally, hi and welcome to the forum

When checking the fridge circuits, make sure you use the dedicated fridge earth - if that's become disconnected the fridge won't work even if it's getting power.

.........the refrigerator should have a 12 volt fuse within the caravan.
Often there is a bank of fuses on the front bulkhead inside the caravan.........usually under one of the front seats.
