Just purchased a Fleetwood Colchester 2 Birth 1996 1500-2eb. Had it serviced and got a glowing report. Only problem was a faulty electronic gas cooker igniter. I have been told the cooker is a Monte Carlo i4000, but have no idea where to get hold of one. Tried Google but no success. Would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. (Got no joy from Fleetwood sales) There is always matches I know, but its nice to have all the equipment working as it should. Thaks in anticipation.

Hi,

I can't remember the make of the cooker we had this problem on but it turned out the igniter ran of an AA battery which was located under the button, which just levered off. It was on the top of the hob in line with the control knobs and was about the size of a 2p piece. Don't try levering off a button if it doesn't look similar, I wouldn't want you to break anything!!

Can't be sure but your cooker may well be made by either spinflo or Stoves - try googling these. If Stoves, they are in the Liverpool area (from memory) and I have found them very helpful in the past.

There should be a name or a label somewhere on the cooker,

Hi

Had the same problem, put van in for service and dealer said not the sort of thing they can work on,contacted Stoves who sent a new igniterFOC and they sent local service engineer to fit it he called and checked it and found corroded contacts on back of igniter, cleaned them up and it all worked again.Took the new part away and didn't charge me.
