My son arrived home all in one piece although he ran out of money so we had to pay over the phone for his last hotel. He said that in the 2 weeks he was there he saw no trouble whatsoever and was always treated with friendliness. It's just a pity that the two incidents of violence recently has spoiled it although I'm sure it wasn't just one-sided. The funniest incident he came across was in a bar when a Dutch supporter came up to them and started chatting. He was saying how he loved the English and he supported England in the cup. He said he was only wearing a Dutch shirt because he was with his friends. He bought my son and his mate a drink as he was swearing his allegiance to the English. My son thought "oh yes, another had one too many" when the Dutchman lifted up his shirt and tattooed on his chest was ENGLAND and the three lions. hehheh! BTW Lutz, I told him of your offer of help if he had any problems and he asked me to pass on his thanks :O)

Lord B. although your son is now home early you can lay rest assured that he is home in one piece and has not been involved in any troubles. As far as paying for his hotel this is why God made parents so that they can bail their children out financially, etc. What other reason is there for us?
