Getting to know van specs

Hi there to each and everyone of you my name is Iain and I am a caravan newbie looking for some basic advice please. I have zero experience with caravans and I have just recently bought a 1994 2 berth Lunar Metorite van. There's a few bits that need doing to it & I can't find anything online to suggeest what Iparts need to purchase. First of all the jockey wheel & clamp needs replacing but what diameter should I be purchasing 48mm? 42mm? 34mkm or something else? Also the plastic exterior trim arounds the door (brown) is missing what diameter do you think it could be? Online I can't find much if anything on my van so apologises if these questions seem dumb but I'm struggling to find the answer to my queries.

Hello Iain,

Welcome to the forum.

With regards the jockey wheel and clamp, you say it needs replacing, which suggests you have the old one so I would suggest you measure it and find the same size replacement.

Alternatively perhaps someone on the forum with the same caravan maybe able to tell you. OR you could contact a Lunar or any caravan dealer and ask them.

But in the absence of all that and based on the assumption that the bigger the jockey wheel shaft the more weight it can handle and as you only have a small two berth caravan, I would guess the smallest would do, or for belt and braces opt for the middle sized one.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on buying your first caravan Iain.
Click Here for a wide selection of door and window seals, screw coverings etc;
Check the profile of the seal that you want to replace, measure the length and if replacing it in cold weather plastic or rubber seals become more pliable if left in a bucket of warm water for a while before fitting.
A call to a caravan dealer should give you the diameter of the jockey wheel and clamp, there are all sizes available via E-Bay
