We have booked the caravan in at a CL in Gloucestershire, not far from Slimbridge and wonder if anyone can recommend any other good birdwatching sites within a 20 or so miles radius of that area?
We also like visiting National Trust & English Heritage places and would be grateful for any recommendations. . Unfortunately, I think the Severn Valley Railway may be too far away from where we'll be based.
Thanks.

The SVR might be a bit too far but there's always the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire heritage line which currently runs between Cheltenham racecource and Toddington, with plans to extend the line as far as the popular Cotswold town of Broadway in Worcs which will make it the longest UK steam heritage railway in the country.
Click Here for information on the G&W railway.

Hi Meals on Wheels - when is your visit only there is a Five Star plus Severn Bore on Sunday morning at approximately 8.30 am and you wouldn't be too far away if you could get to a safe place to view it! I am ashamed to say that I've lived near the Severn for a long time and not yet seen the Bore in the flesh!
