Over the years I have used the old safety razor, then the Gillette razors with 2 blades, then 3, then 4, but the Gillette blades starting to get quite expensive. Looking around found a new boy on the block and decided to try their blades. Might as well have gone back to the old safety razor as kept on nicking myself. After some persuasion from OH I decided to try one of the latest Braun electric razors.

To say I am impressed is an under statement! This new electric shaver is as good if not better than using a cut throat razor for a really close shave. Seriously impressed and now wonder why I never tried an electric razor previously! Very happy chappy!

I have one of the hand-held electric shavers for my head (the ones that sit in the palm of your hand and have 8 or 9 rotating cutting heads) but always wet shaved my face. I started using the Aldi multi-blade razors a few years back and they're very good and a lot cheaper than some of the better-known brands.

Having had three electric shavers the latest one is cordless Remington R6 Wet/dry so far very happy .

Just me I am sure. But I have tried electric razors and the vibrations make my skin feel awful, and it doesn’t settle for a long time.

Mind you, my beard is like wire, while my head hair is extremely thin, (in fact mostly disappeared).

This is something I've been thinking about for a while now. Initiated by 'shrink flation' when I noticed the price of Gillette blades and the claim the pack would last me 3 months. *But only if I shaved three times a week.

Also they don't last as long as they used to.

So I've looked at electric razors and appreciate the plug for Braun. Mind you some of them are ridiculously priced.

What model did you get?

Just because I can, Amazon offered me a small battery powered electric razor that's for travel really as it's small and fits into the palm of your hand with room to spare. Couldn't tell the before and after difference. That'll go to a charity at some time.

Taking into consideration the price, I read numerous reviews and also checked on the Which review comparison site. eventually decided to go for the Braun Pro+ 76 series. The shaver includes a trimming tool for sideburns.

I chose the basic pack which excludes the charger to plug it into as one can plug the cable directly into the shaver. Not cheap but taking into consideration the cost of replacement blades after 3 years it has probably paid for itself. Comes with a cleaning station that you would use probably once a month. I simply removed the head and rinsed it under a tap. Works just as well.

However they couldn’t get on with the Braun so they reverted to wet shaved again. I retrieved it and still occasionally use it. When he left us I retrieved his very expensive heating aids and had them reprogrammed for my hearing spectrum. But I drew the line at his teeth !

It is actually the Braun series 9 Pro+ 9667cc electric razor. The 96 series is the very latest.

Did you mean "hearing aids" and not heating aids?

Well given the entirety of the sentence I would have had great difficulty having a old style storage heater reprogrammed for helping my hearing 😂😂
