Well I can honestly say 2005 has been the worst year for our family.

It got of to a good start in jan. when we bought our new van.

But whilst storing it in feb the barn door slammed into the side putting four holes in the side.

Then in Feb again I bumped the car in the snow.

In april I bumped the rear or the car

In april also my wife was diagnose with MS and cervical cancer in the same WEEK !

I have lost one 36 yr old friend and an auntie to cancer.

My estate was slated in the press for its design, probably reducing the value of our house.

The in-laws decided to have christmas dinner at our house this year.

My 65 yr old mother got engaged......(dont ask)

But on the bright side........................ No there isnt one!

No really, going to buy a new van soon to make up for all the crap we have been through.

Good ridance 2005......................Roll on 2006

Cheers everyone john

p.s anyone looking for a first foot??

Hi john 2005 has not been a good year for you .the caravan and car are bits of metal that can soon be put right but your wifes illness must be very hard for you to take. I only hope that 2006 will be a good year for both of you . Coljac

Look on the bright side John, with your mothers engagement 2006 could bring you a new brother or sister....Brian (",)

That's the spirit, look on the bright side. Doctors can do miracles these days and I hope for the best regarding your wife. Cars and caravans can be replaced, that's what insurance is for. At least your estate got recognised for having a design, quirky sells!

Sorry though bud, there's no getting away from having the in-laws around for xmas dinner, that's a cross a lot of us have to bare. Like the old joke says, what's the difference between in-laws and outlaws?

Outlaws are wanted...

John

What an awful time for you and your wife. I have been nursing a close aunt who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, she has been given the all clear now. I know exactly how you feel. At the risk of stating the obvious, have you contacted any of the self help groups for MS and cervical cancer? They are informative and it's good to talk to others in the same boat.

Cars and caravans can be replaced. I bashed my car in the other week, I ruined the alloys in August, (had to have four new tyres recently

Thanks folks for all the kind words !!

The thing about a new year is you can make allsorts of promises and plan lots of things.

Not to dwell on sadness anymore, but a mate of mine who because of me bought a caravan and has spent many a weekend away with us has been told of his wifes cancer.

The only thing he says that makes her smile at the moment is planning our trips away this year ( the lakes, northumberland, Edinburgh )

Illnes is not just for the old, my wife is 34 and my mate's wife is 42.

But as they say there's always someone worse off than yourselves, and we have three lovely daughters to keep up happy ( and broke)..........but thanks again for the kind words!

Happy caravaning..........John, Co.Durham
