Hi John,
We stay at Goosewood at least once every year. It's clean and quiet and pitches are fairly level and hard-standing. The shower blocks are nice and clean and warm. There is good play area which my kids love (aged 6 & 12) - they always cheer when they know we're going to Goosewood! The pool is only a plunge type pool, as can be seen on the web site and the health suite needs to booked at reception - it's quite small and thus can't take too many people together. Getting to the site is easy enough once you know where it is (we went solo first to find it) but the roads in the surrounding villages are a little 'bouncy' with the van on the back - we always end up with clothes on the wardrobe floor! Reception area is good, staff are friendly and take you right onto your pich and plenty of local interest leaflets at the small kiosk.
However, Prices have gone up a little over the last few years, which in turn is probably to fund the investment (at least it's being re-invested!). We've booked for Mayday bank holiday weekend but was disappointed to find out that the cost for a bank holiday is even more expensive than the standard high season charge but I suppose it's down to supply and demand.
All that said we'll probably continue to go as at least we know what we're getting for our money.
Hope this helps?
Simon
