Sorry to hear your news but hope you are recovering well. If you are on warferin (which needs monitoring) talk to GP about Apixaban or one of the others which does not. They are more expensive to NHS but don't need the monitoring, so long term can be much better value for money and are far less fussy to live with.
You can even have a certain amount of wine daily, but it should be roughly the same amount each day, so specify a reasonable quantity when asked !
Have you tried one of these machines you put your feet onto and which then gives you mild electric shocks up into the leg muscles for half and hour or so ? I've had some circulation problems and have been highly suspicious of such devices but gave in to domestic pressure and have to say I can notice a considerable improvement. Some claim to be NHS approved and thus available on 'prescription'. If only it worked on other parts too.............
