Hi Jo Anne, yes I have one of those spaceship cookers.I have just cooked some sirloin steak in mine and yesterday I did lamb chops. It is great for all meat as it crisps up any fat on it but stays moist. I have used it to cook sausages, bacon and tomatoes with mushrooms all at the same time. Vegetables like potatoes, need to be cut quite small or else they do not cook very well in the middle.I shall be taking it when out with the caravan to use in the awning.I only paid about

We have had one for 3 months now its a JML, you can cook anything that a normal oven will cook only faster. We will be taking it with us in the caravan. Just a word of warning its so bright when working you could do with sunglasses. J.Lo

Hi there

We used our JML Halogen Oven att home and when we where away in the caravan and cook just about everything in it.

The oven bulbs broke and JML replaced the oven after 6 months with a brand new one with no problems.

So would recommend.

Hope this helps

Hi Jo Ann

Just before you buy have a look at a remorska from Lakeland, more expensive but also very good and smaller and lighter I think.

Hi

I have both cookers and find the Remoska brilliant I even use it most of the time at home.

I find the halogen oven is much larger to take away and it gives off an annoying light and noise.Although easy to wash it is a bit hard to handle when cleaning and as it is glass I worry in case I drop it. The remoska is also very easy to clean and is unbreakable. I have the large one and I can cook good sizes family meals as well as cakes etc.

Anyway enjoy whatever you cook we find cooking part of the joy of being able to cook all those lovely fresh ingredients.

FILhas a JML. Broke after 3 months but was replaced no quibble.

It does cook ok but for us it is just something else to carry.

I'd end up with more cooking appliances in the caravan than at home!

Cheers

We have had a JML one for over a year - superb in a caravan , we went away at christmas and used it to cook a christmas dinner.

Whole chicken takes around an hour - saves you gas , you are already paying for the hookup !! It is very bright.

Hi Jo-ann, I bought a halogen oven about 3 months ago, and I have not used my regular oven since. I will not be taking it caravanning with me, as I am worried about breaking the glass bowl, and I think it is a little heavy, and for me personally, I prefer to cook on my electric hot plate.

As for cooking with it, I find if you cook potatoes for chips or roasts ect, it helps to microwave them first, makes cooking in the halogen quicker.

I have found a good website with great advice and recipes for the halogen oven,

Hope this helps, Carole
