Hi Ed

We're going there in september for 3 weeks.

As far as I can see the sites are quite limited. Eilean Fraoich at Shawbost looks the best for a tugger.

Have a look at ukcampsites . That's where I found most of mine.

Laxdale site at Stornoway is also a possible.

We will be using Cal Macs Island Hopscotch tickets which make very good value for money.

What did you have in mind? Which way are you going up? We're having some time on Mull and Skye first but may do the trip in reverse order. Not decided yet.

Cheers

Alan

hello alan,

ive just had a look at the sites you mentioned, and i am waiting for confirmation of opening times on fraoich, laxdale is open, ive also just contacted calmac with regards our 2 dogs to check if they can go on deck, and thats a yes. thank god. there would be nothing left of the car. we are coming up from wakefield and going to bunree first for one night (via stirling and callendar) then hopefully on to the western isles, for possibly 4 nights, and back via a 3 night stay on skye, then a stop off on way home, not sure where yet. id like to spend more time up there, but think we will appreciate the time however long we are there. we go mid april, to also avoid the wonderful midges. cant wait to go. never mind counting down the weeks,(14) im trying to work out the hours. regards, ED.

Hi Ed,

We have two Springers so I'm pleased CalMac have areas on their ships for dogs.

Have a look at Kinloch campsite Dunvegan Skye. I think that is where will stay.

We are semi retired now so have allocated 6 weeks for the Scottish tour. Just seems something different. This time it will be end of august all of september. Hopefully all the heathers will be out in full colour.

Not long for you now.

Please let me know how you get on at the sites, you can be our "test pilot"!!

Cheers

Alan
